Testing the Greenstyle Sundial Leggings

Greenstyle Creations has done it again! Another great legging pattern has been released and I was so excited to test these. The Sundial Leggings are a quick sew with no side seams or pockets. They stand out from other patterns by the latest trend of the cross front waistband. But as usual, the options don’t stop there. The waistband can be made with a high rise, contoured waistband layered underneath, or with just the higher waistband by itself. The pattern includes to rise options and an optional triangle gusset for optimal fit.

The size range of these leggings spans Greenstyle size B-M, covering hip sizes 32″-62″. I measure right into size F, with an E waistband. They are drafted for a 5’7″ height. I did not make any modifications to the height of the two pairs I sewed up. Remember, though, the vertical stretch of your fabric will factor into the finished length of your leggings.

The first pair I made with Greenstyle supplex. This color is no longer available, but you can find the in stock supplex here. I used a scrap of grey supplex from Boho Fabrics for the waistband. I made the lower rise to accommodate a growing belly with the V waistband. I always put a gusset in my leggings for comfort.

My next pair I made using athletic knit from Sew Dynamic Fabrics. These jewel stripes are surprisingly still in stock!

I’ve been wearing these Sundial Leggings layered under Brassie Joggers while I go to the park or take the pups for a walk and they’ve been great! No added bulk from side seams or pockets.

As usual, they have a great fit through the back. The gusset option adds comfort and mobility and I strongly suggest taking the time to add it!

When attaching the waistband, make sure you go slow. Take the time to baste! I am one that tends to skip basting (way more than I should), but this is one spot that I strongly suggest taking the time to baste to make sure that front V looks perfect!

I paired both of these leggings with the Studio To Street Top. This is one of my go to patterns because of all the options and various looks you can achieve! Both fabrics are from The Fabric Fairy.
