EM – Kids Color-Block Tie Top

This week I was able to participate in another Ellie & Mac Wacky Wednesday! As a reminder, every Wednesday, Ellie & Mac sets a few of their patterns on sale for $1. This is such a great way to build your pattern stash at such a low price!

This week I had the chance to sew up the Color-Block Tie Top… but I made it without the tie! This options for a regular hem comes right in the pattern, so you’re really getting two unique patterns in one.

The color blocking on this pattern is easy to follow along and is a great way to use up scraps from other projects, which is exactly what I did! My kiddo chose the Neon Dots in brushed jersey from Sew Dynamic Fabrics. I had just the right amount of fabric and narrow scraps to get the sections this top needed. I paired it with black 265 athletic brushed polyester from Bow Button Fabrics, one of my most favorite fabrics.

This will be a great long sleeved top for the cooler weather this winter! Plus, the pattern comes with a chest pocket. I don’t know about you, but pockets are a must with everyone in this household!

Don’t forget to grab the Color-Block Tie Top on sale for only $1 this week! Also, the majority of the shop is on sale right now, so check out some of the other patterns! Some we especially like are the Around The Block, Curved Hem Pocket Tank, and the Undercover Hoodie.

As always, let me know if you have any questions or comments! Thanks for stopping by!
