Greenstyle – Studio to Street Top

Say yes to my newest favorite comfy shirt! This pattern, the Studio to Street Top from Greenstyle Creations is the one that has definitely been missing from my closet! I have a store bought shirt that is very similar to this pattern that is completely worn out that I haven’t been able to let go of… until now. 🙂

The fit of this pattern is a loose dolman style top. I know I’ve said it before, but dolman’s are my favorite. There are options to band the short dolman sleeves or add long sleeves. The hemline has multiple options as well including cropped, sloped, and a split banded hem. Of course there are also multiple necklines (crew or v neck) AND backs (deep v, regular v, or crew).

The fabric I used is this periwinkle blue bamboo lycra from The Fabric Fairy. The drape is beautiful for this top. When choosing your fabric, definitely make sure it has great drape!

I opted for the short sleeves banded, since it’s already been in the 80’s all week. I really like the wider band on this top, and haven’t seen that option on many other dolman patterns out there (at least not the 4 others I have sewn up). I usually just opt to hem short dolman sleeves, but am glad I went with the bands on this one.

I chose the sloped hemline because this is how I like my hems. I usually like things covering my bum… 🙂 I am really excited to try a crop version soon! I haven’t really ventured into the crop tops before, but the length of the crop on this pattern is really flattering and I’ve seen most hit around the belly button.

I decided to try the deep V back. I sometimes like getting the “hardest” parts of the pattern over with the first time I sew them up. 🙂 Not always a good plan, especially when the first one doesn’t fit, but it keeps things exciting! I usually do this with Greenstyle patterns because I know they always fit so well! Back to the deep V… the instructions were SO clear. Yes, this option is more time consuming, but it looks fabulous! The seam down the middle back makes the construction of the deep V easier. This is definitely a great feature that sets this pattern apart from others.

Luna was working on her modeling as well. Too much sun, I think.

Here, I have the top paired with Super G Tights and a hacked Power Sports Bra… but I’ve worn it out to run errands and drinks with some friends with jeans and it looks just as great! Depending on fabric choice, this top can definitely be worn to the studio or out on the street. Angelyn at Greenstyle always does such a fabulous job naming her patterns. 🙂

I originally made this top as part of my Greenstyle Fit Capsule. I have another coming up soon and will post about that one. I’m super excited for it and have finally found the perfect fabric to create what I have been envisioning! Let me know what your plans are for your first Studio to Street Top!

As always, let me know if you have any questions or comments! Thanks for stopping by!
