Sunday Lately – Week 11, 2019

Hello again! Another Sunday Lately for this week. Thanks for stopping by!

Crushing: Hmm, this is an interesting one. I would love to say I’m crushing it on all my sewing makes lately, but I just haven’t had the time to sew up as much as I’d like. Or maybe about blogging, but again, time. How about I go with crushing ice? I’m back on a smoothie kick and it’s been amazing. I’m using up more fruit and veggie scraps that usually go into the trash (now they go straight to a container in the freezer) AND the little is consistently getting leafy greens into his system. 🙂 Definitely not sewing related, but it works, right? How about I say I consumed a smoothie yesterday while sewing… 😉

Reminiscing: This week I was reminiscing about two things. It was roughly two years ago when I started sewing again (and with knits for the first time) and it was exactly two years ago when we announced on social media our upcoming move to Arizona. Thinking about having a six month old strapped to my belly while I attempted to sew again was so fun for me. 🙂 I had a little that would not nap without being held, so we did lots of naps while baby carrying!

Here is my first blog post. One of the first items I made was the Banana Booties by Max and Meena.

Laughing: Well, sometimes in the sewing world you have to laugh at yourself… especially at mistakes you haven’t made in a year. Just yesterday I was sewing the band onto a Power Sports Bra with Phee Supplex and started sewing it to the inside of the bra. I have been sewing bands and cuffs on nearly every project, so this was a mistake that doesn’t happen often. Thankfully I caught myself after only an inch… otherwise I might not have laughed at myself. 😂

By the way, stay tuned for a tutorial on a modified Power Sports Bra coming soon!

As always, let me know if you have any questions or comments! Thanks for stopping by!

Cheers!
